Open an IFC file online, free and without installing software

You do not need Revit or a desktop BIM application to view an IFC file. DRB Studio opens it in the browser on your computer or phone, processes it on your device, and lets you explore the model, inspect elements and export 2D drawings.

The viewer interface is in Spanish; English coming soon

Editorial review: · DRB Studio.

  1. Open the viewer

Visit drbstudio.mx/visor in Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. No account or installation is required. Controls adapt to desktop and mobile devices; a computer is a better choice for large models.

  2. Drag and drop your IFC file

Drag the .ifc file into the window or choose “Abrir mi proyecto” (Open my project). IFC 2x3, IFC4 and IFC4x3 files are read in your browser without uploading the model. Large files take longer on less powerful devices.

  3. Explore floors and element types

Switch to “Revisión” (Review). The Explorer lists floors and element types. Show a single floor, search for a door or wall using the names in your model, and isolate or hide the results.

  4. Select an element to inspect it

The element panel shows its name, floor and dimensions in plain language. IFC property sets and the GlobalId are available under “Datos técnicos” (Technical data).

  5. Create sections, measure and export 2D drawings

Use the section box and cutting planes, measure distances, and export floor plans, elevations and dimensioned sections as DXF or SVG. Export quantity schedules as CSV for Excel.

  6. Save or share the project

Opening an IFC from the viewer home screen saves it in “Mis proyectos” (My projects) in this browser. Choose “Exportar” (Export) on its card to download a .drb package. Share it with a client or collaborator, who can drag it into the viewer without creating an account.
